There’s a lot of pride that comes with that kind of trust.”

The City of Richmond, VA, which was incorporated in 1742, is home to more than 226,000 residents. Steeped in American history, Richmond is home to a memorable line from Patrick Henry, a United States Founding Father. It was at St. John's Church in 1775 where Henry famously declared “Give me liberty or give me death”, leading to the Revolutionary War.

To help protect the residents of Richmond and its thousands of visitors, the RFD provides fire suppression, emergency medical, water rescue, confined space/excavation rescue, structural collapse rescue, hazardous materials mitigation, and other public safety services.
